Burlington’s newest residential community of Alton Village also referred to on occasion as Alton Village Cornerstone is located in Burlington, Ontario in the North East Corner of the city. The homes lie within the street parameters of Walker’s Line East, North of Dundas Street (Highway #5), to Appleby Line and North to the 407 ETR Toll Highway.
The residential real estate development started in 2006. Most of the residential home styles in Alton Village Cornerstone are two storeys, comprised of detached homes, semi-detached and freehold town homes; along with upscale low-rise condominium apartment buildings at the corner of Dundas Street and Rotary Way. Along Walker’s line there are residential homes known as “work-and-live” units that serve the Alton Village Cornerstone community.

Alton Village Neighbourhood Community is relatively young. The homeowners started to take possession of their new homes in the Spring of 2006.The prominent home builders in Alton Village have been Mattamy Homes, Fernbrook Homes, Vallery Homes, Branthaven Homes, Sundial Homes and Emery Homes. Alton Village | Cornerstone Shopping Centers & Medical Facilities:
In the Alton Village Cornerstone community there are four major shopping plazas and fifth is in the midst of being built.
Three of the completed plazas are located at the corner of Appleby Line and Dundas Street:
“Appleby Crossing Plaza” on the southeast corner with Winners and 30 additional stores and services. Site plan.
“Cornerstone Centre” on the southwest corner with Starbucks and 15 additional stores and services.
” Alton Smart Centre” on the northwest corner with Wal-Mart and 25 additional stores and services. Under construction on the northeast corner adjacent to this location is the extension of this Smart center with many more stores planned. Site plan.
The fourth Plaza is located at the corner of Walkers Line and Dundas Street:
“Longos Plaza” is located on the southwest corner with Longos Grocery store and approximately 30 other stores and services.
“Halton Family Health Centre and Walk-In Medical Clinic” is on the southeast corner and offers family medical, dental, naturopathic and specialist practices. On site services includes pharmacy, natural dispensary, laboratory, and X-Ray. The facility is taking on new patients!

At the corner of Walker’s line and Dundas Street on north east corner is another commercial plaza that is under development and rumors have it that perhaps a Shopper’s Drug mart and / or beer, liquor store will be occupying this space.
On Walker’s Line just past Thomas Alton Boulevard on Palladium Way on the east side of Walker’s Line is a commercial plaza under development and currently has the “Little Kids Day Care Center Inc.” and is open for business!
Extensive Development will be under way soon at the intersection of Tim Dobbie Drive and Dundas Street for a new Community Recreation Centre, High School and Library. The Halton District School Board and the City of Burlington and Burlington Library have entered into discussions to develop this joint facility on lands owned by the Halton District School Board.

Queen Elizabeth Highway:
Easy access to major highways south on Appleby Line or Walker’s Line to Queen Elizabeth Highway (QEW) distance 2.0 miles.
407 Toll Highway:
There are two entry points from Alton Village Cornerstone to the 407 ETR Toll Highway one from Dundas Street (also known as Highway #5) between Guelph Line and Walker’s Line, and the second from Appleby Line north of Dundas Street. From the centre of the Alton Village/Cornerstone the distance is less then a mile in either direction to access the 407 ETR Highway.
403 Highway:
The QEW and the ETR connect to the 403 Highway and depending on the direction you are traveling will take you to Hamilton going west or Mississauga and Toronto going east.
Distances to Other Major Cities:
The distance from Alton Village Cornerstone to the East is Mississauga 22 miles and Toronto 35 miles; traveling to the West Hamilton 10 miles and Niagara Falls 60 miles away to the wonderful region’s Wine Country!
Go Transit:
There are three stops located throughout Burlington for the Go Transit System. The Appleby Go Station is located on 5111 Fairview Street, Burlington, on the east side Appleby Line is 4 miles away from the Alton Village Cornerstone Community.
Via Rail Transportation:
The Via Rail Station in Burlington is located at 1199 Waterdown Road in the Aldershot Community; main intersection would be Waterdown Road and 403 Highway and is 8 miles away for the Alton Village Cornerstone Community.
Burlington Transit:
The Burlington Transit network covers all of Burlington and Connects you to Oakville and Hamilton Transit, as well as the GO Stations at Aldershot, Burlington and Appleby Line.
