The Orchard, one of Burlington’s newest communities, is nestled on the border of Burlington and Oakville in the northeast corner of the city. Bordered by Bronte Creek Provincial Park the neighborhood offers a number of sprawling parks and nature trails. The area spans from Dundas Street to Upper Middle Road in the north and south and Appleby Line to Orchard Road from east to west.

Calling on the area’s history, The Orchard remembers the time when the lands on which Burlington stands were full of orchards. Begun in the late 1990′s the community features a number of home styles for varying incomes and family needs. Most homes are 2-storey detached but semi-detached, townhouses and upscale condominium town homes can also be found.

With a focus on family The Orchard offers a convenient location with easy access to schools, major highways and amenities.

Shopping Centres
Most shopping centres are located at the edge of the Orchard on Appleby Line with the main being the Millcroft Shopping Centre – Located at the intersection of Appleby Line and Upper Middle Line, the centre features major retailers (Zellers (Future Target), Metro, Canadian Tire, Shoppers Drug Mart). Further up Appleby Line is a Williams Fresh Cafe, and Shoppers Drug Mart.

The Orchard Highway Access, Go Train and Via Rail Services:

The Orchard is conveniently located for commuters with close proximity to Appleby Line and the 407 just above Dundas. Also off Appleby line to the south is a QEW access and a GO station.

Queen Elizabeth Highway:
Easy access to major highways following Appleby Line to Queen Elizabeth Highway (QEW). Approximately 2.6 kilometres away.

407 Toll Highway:
There are two entry points to the 407 ETR Toll Highway, one from Dundas Street (also known as Highway #5) between Guelph Line and Walker’s Line, and the second from Appleby Line north of Dundas Street. It is approximately 2.6 kilometres to Appleby Line, the nearest access point.

403 Highway:
The QEW and the ETR connect to the 403 Highway and depending on the direction you are traveling will take you to Hamilton going west or Mississauga and Toronto going east. Follow Appleby Line to the QEW for approximately 8.6 kilometres to access Highway 403.

Distances to other major cities:
The distance from The Orchard in Burlington to Mississauga is approximately 34 kilometres and 50 kilometres to Toronto. Traveling to the west, Hamilton is approximately 23 kilometres and Niagara Falls is 80 kilometres away.

Go Transit:
The nearest stop for the Go Transit System is the Appleby Go Station and is located on 5111 Fairview Street, Burlington and is 4.3 kilometres away from The Orchard. A new stop is planned for 2101 Fairview Street in Spring 2012.

Via Rail Transportation:
The Via Rail Station in Burlington is located at 1199 Waterdown Road in the Aldershot Community; main intersection would be Waterdown Road and 403 Highway and is 13 kilometres away from the The Orchard community.

Burlington Transit:
The Burlington Transit network covers all of Burlington and connects residents to Oakville and Hamilton transit, as well as the GO Stations at Aldershot, Burlington and Appleby Line. There is also a service called Dial-A-Ride which is available to Burlington residents.
